The Warrior Puptress turns 1

Xena with her cake.

Yesterday was my little girl’s birthday. Just like a human child I was in awe of how she’s grown as a pup. She hasn’t grown so much physically. She’s only 2.5 pounds.

I have had lots of dogs in my life but this little fur baby just melts my heart. She is my ESA and she does help when I’m anxious or sad. It’s hard to be upset with this little one attached to me.

She goes everywhere with me. I couldn’t always take my other dogs with me places. But she gladly comes in tow.

She loves clicking the FaceTime button on my phone and calling people while I text.

Her mannerisms are incarnate of several animals. She hops like a bunny and has huge ears. She plays like a cat. She tears up like a little pony on her back legs. She lounges like a sloth on her back waiting for a belly rub.

She does not like it when I’m using my phone or laptop. She blocks me from seeing my screen.

She loves to go for walks but hates her leash. The stubborn side of her only wants to walk on her terms. She does great off leash but she’s so small and quick I can’t trust her safety to just do that all the time.

When I write or draw. She sits with me gazing and suggests different paint brushes. Her dog bed is on top of my desk.

My boyfriend said we’re codependent. But I just feel comforted. She helps my mood to get up and think of someone else’s needs. Care for someone.

Even now as I type this she’s blocked my view and typed a few words.

This little girl completes me.

I knew from the moment I saw her picture she was mine. I could not have her if my friends had not help fund me. I’m forever grateful.

Little Girl and I are off for a walk.

Happy birthday baby

Custom party hat was a must.
